Still under construction is some parts, this trail is a gift by the Carolina Climbers Coalition, who built some areas from scratch and others vastly improved what was there.
It begins and end from the parking just outside the back gate in Wolf Laurel on Sconse Creek (aka Bald Mountain) Rd turning left. Proceed up the trail to an old accesss road and continue ahead but begin looking to the left for a crossing over Bald Mountain Creek.
After crossing the creek via an old tree, proceed uphill a short distance where you will come to a junction allowing you to turn right or proceed ahead. The easier direction is to the right. The elevation at the junction is around 3300', the summit is 3850. You'll climb 550' in either direction but continuiing straight you'll do 250 of it in the .2 miles to the top.
Which ever path you take to the summit, take a few extra minutes to visit the pavillion at the top of Weaver Knob which is not far off the loop, on a former road listed on Google Maps as Weaver Ln.
